Title: Elk options, what would you do?
Post by: MikeC on April 15, 2016, 03:32:50 PM
This year is starting off great in the special permit categories for myself. I drew a Kapowsin Spring Bear tag for the 2nd year in a row,  then was lucky enough to draw the Multi Season Elk Tag with my big brother! Lots of options for special permits this season. With the Kapowsin bear tag, I either have to buy the bear access pass for $100 or the full year motor vehicle access pass for $375. Obviously feeling lucky so far, if I buy the full year my name goes into the hat for 1of 6 bull tags in the unit and other benefits with the year pass, open for deer hunting and 5 cords of firewood.. Should I go for it? WWYD
Obviously love the options of applying for multiple weapon/hunt choices with the MS elk tag with 8 points in both quality and bull categories. Decisions decisions.....

Just reading the subject, my first thought was 'BBQ'

I say go for it. Not a bear hunter but I buy the yearly Snoqualmie pass. Use the firewood and love having lots of space to go disappear.

If you plan on hunting a lot and you like that area then go for it I say especially if your going to cut 5 cords of would to boot. Sounds to me like you already want to and if its not going to break your bank then why not do it?
