Post by: ribka on April 19, 2016, 10:00:09 AM
Cabelas has them on sale now

Thinking of picking up one in 300 win mag and throwing an after market trigger on it and maybe take two inches off barrel.Have some Berger vlds would like to try in it. Just a cheap long range rig to play with. Have a vortex can throw on it

Anyone have input on these?loads? Mods suggested?

Why would you cut the barrel down 2 inches for a long range gun?
I've heard good things about those guns. But haven't shot one myself

I have one in .25-06 and I really like it. It shoots well and is a good looking rifle as well. I put a Timney trigger in mine. Great upgrade. My buddy bought one in .300WM and it also looks like it will be a good shooter but he hasn't done too much with it yet.
I'm with Bullblaster though, not sure why you'd want to cut the barrel. It probably wouldn't affect things much either way. The rifle is heavy. 2" off the barrel isn't going to change that too much. It is front end heavy from a balance standpoint...maybe that would help a little but I can't see it being much.
