Very cool. I have a Sony P100 with a busted LCD (dropped an elk quarter on my pack :bash:) that's been sitting around doing nothing. I'm going to dig into it and see what the shutter board looks like in comparison to the W80. So far, I've not found anyone who's hacked on all the trailcam sites. Nothing builds confidence faster than getting your hands dirty.

I was going to buy another LCD for it on eBay but they are as much as the whole camera these days. The camera works fine, I just cracked the screen itself. i'll take some pics of it and PM them your way. Won't be for a few days though.

I have seen your post on Craig's list. I did Email you to see who you were? I am personally appalled that after you were given a gift of knowledge for what would be free less the cost of the donation for gas to have "Dave and Gramps" spend the day with us. That you have chosen to sell that for basically 30 pieces of silver. I will tell you that anytime I see you posting I will FLAG you and I encourage everyone else to do like wise!! I may get knocked off here for the next Statement but you my friend are a R*T Bas*ard.

Aaron, I don't care what you do, but I think you need just a little more experience before you start something like this. Believe me, it can be a big headache, I mailed the shutter assembly today to your work address.
bow4elk, You can forget about hacking that P10. If you take it apart, you will see what I am talking about.
Rick, I thought I had a flash assembly for that W80, but I can't find one. I have them for the 55 and 200 but they will not work for your camera. I hope you have that flash problem figured out.
I would stick with Sony cameras, and personally, I would not have any thing older than the W80.

Rat the add never says anything about building someone a trail camera for half their paycheck...all it states is that if you are interested in a trail camera then it would not be that expensive. Take a chill-pill before you get a hernia and dont jump to conclusions about something you know nothing about.

Griz, I am glad that you enjoy this because I know I do. Last Saturday, when I asked how many there had cameras, and I saw the hands, I was ready to sneak out the back door. I knew what kind of a day we had ahead of us. We tried to do too much too fast. I think soon everyone there that day will be able to do whatever they want to do. I do not consider myself a pro because I learn more everyday. You can do whatever you want to do. I think Olsy and Baseballstud picked this up very fast. Soon they will be teaching us all how to do it better. Actually, everyone did very well that day. This is not that hard, and you will learn fast.
