This was from today at 100 yds. Would you guys try and get better groups or try and maintain this shooting?

What are you shooting?

T/C Black Diamond XR. Open sights. 100 grains of 777 and 290 grain Barnes TMZ

I'd take that all day with a muzzy!

:yeah: :yeah:
If you want to try and tighten them up a little go to a peep site.....otherwise don't change a thing.

Thanks for the input. It has been a helluva ride. I started totally green to Muzzy about a year ago. I didnt know a breech plug from a wine cork. Did a lot of research, failures, shooting, & now triumph as I finally got it sighted in. Bittersweet for sure. Now, if i can harvest a deer and/or elk, ill be good to go.

That is the perfect target design for open sights. You can see out to the sides to verify your up and down orientation. Same with top to bottom for side to side orientation. Normal pistol or rifle target, the whole black gets covered up by the front sight. You are not really sure where in the black you are holding. Great group right there. I would hunt with that.

Thanks! Im feeling confident. Now, hopefully i can repeat it. Over and over and over

That is a fine group! I'd echo the suggestion to switch to a peep sight. I did three years ago, and I haven't looked back since.
Other thing would be to shoot from a number of positions (prone, seated, kneel, offhand) and know your effective range from each. I know that's a lot more shooting time required, but it really helps in the field when you are trying to decide if and how to take the shot on an animal.
Good luck this fall!

Looking good! It don't get any better than that.

I went out the other day and tried to tighten up my groupings and this is what I ended up with. 100 grains 777 pellet pushing a 290 grain TMZ at 100 yds with open sights. I think I am ready.
