Just finished up my first build. It's a 16" 1:7 416r SS. I've been working up loads and haven't found one my rifle really like except the nosler 77gr hpbt. Tried the otm's but not quite as good. I want to shoot heavys but wonder what everyone else likes. This is my first ar to load for, I'm starting the learning curve for semi's I guess but I keep wanting to treat it like a bolt gun lol
What loads do your rifles like?

I would try the 69g bthp smk. I run pretty much all smk's in my 223 rifles. Just different weights with the different twist rates.

77 SMK's

Tagging.

SMK's are hard to beat. What are you intending to do?

this will be my varmint gun( whistle pigs to coyote) but I want to stick with heavies as I'm a long range guy and love to push the limits on range. I haven't tried the smk's yet but was looking them over tonight

The SMK's would be a great fit for that.
