Haven't been after them but there are plenty of folks after them from Bonnie down river.

Picked up 16 today with the kids in 3 hrs, lost about that many

What kind of techniques do you use to catch shad? Ive never fished for them but would like to give it a shot someday.

i just use a green or red bead or a tiny corky with a #4 or #6 hook, and a pencil lead setup like you're drift fishing for steelhead.  they'll hit that every bit as well as a shad dart or triple teazer, at a fraction of the cost(especially when fishing in an area as snaggy as up by bonneville dam).  cast and retrieve slowly.
