At the age of 15, and in his last year to qualify for youth hunts, my son drew an any elk Silver Dollar Youth Tag. From what I hear and have read, some youth hunters never even get contacted and granted access by Silver Dollar to hunt. Season is anytime between Aug 1 and Mar 31 of 2017. That's a long time to sit by the phone and hope for a call! Anyway, what experiences do you all have with this place?

We got one call - we couldn't make that Saturday morning because of other commitments. Never got another call from them.
Sounded like it was a hunt around the haystack and the owner or hired man went with you to sit in a blind to shoot when the elk come for the haystack.

I hunted it years ago. The owner of the property only gave one day to hunt as they had so many other people that wanted to hunt. I don't know the phone number but the lady that owned the ranch that I hunted is named Linda North. You actually go by Sunnyside to get to the ranch. Might be under North Ranch ?? --(Sunnyside phone book)--don't know for sure.WDFW probably has her number also. Good luck.. One thing I saw a LOT of was petrified wood--whole logs 40 feet long.

I've been wondering about these types of hunts like 4-O, Blackrock, Buckrun ect... I don't hear a lot about them as far as success stories, but I do see the occasional comment about not getting called or only a day to hunt. I hope it goes well for you but seems like a sham put on by the WDFW.
