I like shooting these little guys for target practice.  They're 300g. 54 cal. Maxi-Balls.

Actually it was my first time.  I used to shoot .50 cal. and had a buddy give me a bag of these shorty conicals.   I really like shooting them with about 50 grains. of powder.  Great for target practice and getting used to the gun.  Then I transition to full size conicals a few weeks before season.  So, with no one dropping of a bunch of these guys on my door step, I figured I’d just buy a mold and get to pouring.  The melting pot and lead came with my .54 Thompson Center Hawken Renegade that I got last year.

Are those from the Lee R.E.A.L. bullet mold?

It's a Lee all right but I don't see R.E.A.L. anywhere.  I bought new off Ebay several months ago for $20.95 (with shipping about $30).  Seemed to work great; just need to get everything as hot as as can.  The pot was on almost full blast.
