Title: Handgun shot shells / compensator
Post by: Bango skank on June 14, 2016, 04:59:50 PM
Hey, so i bought some .45 lc cci shot shells for my .460 incase i run into a rattler.  Its #9 shot, real tiny stuff.  But now im wondering if itll work with the compensator, or go flying out the sides.  Probably a stupid question.

I don't know either, but a shot into a cardboard box or old book from a few inches should answer it.

North 40 in colville.  You could probably order them online from cabelas.  I just ordered some for my .357 on their website

I think a book might give some serious ricochet!  But a cardboard box sounds like a good idea.  Maybe ill put on some safety glasses and give it a whirl.  I try not to shoot much at home, like to keep it kind of a quiet animal sanctuary here.  I do my target shooting at my parents house, i dont mind scaring their deer  :chuckle:

This is off midway's site. It's for CCI .45 shot shells.
The "Do not use..." part is in bold on the site.

CCI is known in the shooting sports industry for producing reliable ammunition that delivers exceptional performance shot after shot. CCI shotshell ammunition is no exception. These loads are designed as a potent round for close range pest control and work well for dispatching nuisance vermin. These loads work great as rat shot, snake shot and close range plinking. These rounds work great in revolvers, but they may not function properly in rifle. Do not use these or any other shot cartridge in handguns having ported recoil compensators. This ammunition is new production and non-corrosive.

Oh well, thanks for posting that.  Well i dont want these shells to go to waste, so i guess ill just have to buy a .45lc anaconda now.   :chuckle:
