As far as I can tell it looks like a relatively cheap unit with good features and decent functionality, but nothing incredible. I've fished on a boat with an Elite series and the charts are very easy to use and the sonar imagery is pretty good but tends to freeze every now and then and need to be restarted.
Probably going to put a 7" with a Navionics chip on my boat this week, but would love to hear any other reccomendations. I know boats and cheap don't go together well, but at $569 this is about as much as I'm able to spend. I'm sure there are some better but more expensive units out there.
Will be using it to shrimp and troll for salmon in the sound and west coast of Vancouver island 90% of the time. Other 10% bottomfish.

I have that same one and love it. It has a couple things I dont like but preformed flawless at Sekiu a couple weeks ago. I dont like the fact that it doesn't have a mark button so you have to do some scrolling or hit man overboard and then change it. I have a 12volt power supply so I brought it in the house and entered some coordinates so when I hit the water it was ready to go.yes the hook 5 does have it. Atleast mine does.

Does anyone have any experience with these? Looks like it is identical to the Elite series with a slightly better price point, but I haven't been able to find many unbiased reviews. Amazon reviews are mixed.. If you are around me I'd let you check out mine on Stevens sometime soon
