Does anyone have any experience with these? Looks like it is identical to the Elite series with a slightly better price point, but I haven't been able to find many unbiased reviews. Amazon reviews are mixed.
As far as I can tell it looks like a relatively cheap unit with good features and decent functionality, but nothing incredible. I've fished on a boat with an Elite series and the charts are very easy to use and the sonar imagery is pretty good but tends to freeze every now and then and need to be restarted.
Probably going to put a 7" with a Navionics chip on my boat this week, but would love to hear any other reccomendations. I know boats and cheap don't go together well, but at $569 this is about as much as I'm able to spend. I'm sure there are some better but more expensive units out there.
Will be using it to shrimp and troll for salmon in the sound and west coast of Vancouver island 90% of the time. Other 10% bottomfish.

I am about to do the same thing this week to. I am going with the 7" Hook for my boat. From what I can tell it looks like an Elite series but easier to operate and navigate through features on it. I am upgrading from an older 5" lowrance so I am sure I am going to be really happy with it.

Im getting the hook 4 with gps and ram mounting bracket. There pretty sweet!

I have a hook 5. But the bigger screen!!!! I wish I would have. Otherwise I love mine. I think cabelas has them for 399.99

I have that same one and love it. It has a couple things I dont like but preformed flawless at Sekiu a couple weeks ago. I dont like the fact that it doesn't have a mark button so you have to do some scrolling or hit man overboard and then change it. I have a 12volt power supply so I brought it in the house and entered some coordinates so when I hit the water it was ready to go.

Sounds good enough! Hook 7 it is.

Could anybody give them a quick review compared to the Elite chirp series?

I put the Hook 4 in my boat last weekend. Seems very easy to use. Between weather and work, I have not had it out on the water to try it yet...But I think I'm gonna like it a lot!!

What I have read is that the HOOK replaced the ELITE.
