I was selected for a West Klickitat deer tag for Dec. Just wondering if there is that I should know before I put my boots on the ground exploring the unit.

Just make sure you don't cross over into the reservation. It's not really marked anywhere.

:yeah: And they don't play nice

No they do not! Other than that it's all going to depend on the weather when you're up there. There's usually always snow that time of year which is nice. I was up there into December on a late muzzleloader cow tag last year and there was plenty of snow but also plenty of ice on top which made hunting terrible. It can be a killer tag to have if the weather is right up there. There are good quality bucks up there for sure. I seen them all the time.

Try a little horn rattling; it has worked for me in the past!

Rut will be way over by December in that area. The deer will be out feeding for longer periods of the day though. I would plan on hunting from daylight to dark as much as possible. Its a fun tag and you should see a lot of deer.
