Scouted unit 22 for elk over the long weekend. We were able to get to the top of the ridges west of Council just over 7000ft. I'd like to know during elk rifle season how is the snow up there? Its hard to tell when its 95 degrees outside like this weekend. I could only find relevant weather for McCall but I assume McCall gets for snow than Council. I know a bunch of the roads are closed for hunting season and I have the maps for that. Thanks.

No way to know...some years it will be 60 deg on the opener or it can be snowed in. Gotta play it by ear and have other plans if you cant get up to where you wanna go

You could see snow in that country in mid September, but it normally won't stick. By rifle season your guess is as good as mine. Just make sure when you pack your bag to not forget your cold weather gear. When the weather changes, odds are that you won't get much of a warning.

One day it could be 70 degrees....the next it could be 10 with a 30 mph wind....
Be ready, good luck
