There are few good deals left down there.  40% off on guns and ammo.
I've bought 5 guns so far.   Couple nice ones I'm excited about and a couple that were just the right price.

Figured since I should be done buying for now I'd pass along the info.  :chuckle:

I bought some kryptek clothes there a few weeks ago. Got a great price. Should have bought more.

Griz231, those little 597's are typically pretty good little 22's but they usually have a VERY heavy trigger pull.  Do yourself a favor and order a VQ Target Hammer it'll make shooting it accurately a whole lot easier by lowering the trigger pull from 6-8 lbs down to about 3 lbs.

I've had a couple 597's and they were great little guns but with that heavy factory trigger it made them hard to shoot with any amount of accuracy, the VQ Target Hammer makes a night and day difference.

You gotta love it when you get smoking good deals on close outs.  A few years ago when Sportsmans Warehouse was going out of business I made a nice grab on a Benelli M2 Tactical for $439.00 I tried to by two of them but they only had the one.

Thanks for the info. I did notice it was a bit heavy. Came with a scope on it and after getting it dialed in its a good little shooter.

You can stone/polish the sear engagement notch on the factory hammer and it'll help quite a bit but it can sometimes be a fine line between perfect and Uh Oh!  If you'd like an extra factory hammer so you can mess around with one stoning/polishing the notch I'm pretty sure I still have the ones I swapped out for the VQ Target Hammer and I'd be happy to mail it to you.  Now that I'm thinking about it, I may even have an extra VQ Target hammer lying around, I'll have to go look.

Just looked and I must have given it to the person I sold my last 597 to.  I put the Jard trigger in my last one and thought I maybe kept the VQ Target Hammer I originally put in it but must not have.  You are more than welcome to the two factory hammers I have if you want them.  Send me a PM with your info and I'll be happy to mail them to you free of charge.

Another option to lighten the trigger and cost a little less would be the MCarbo hammer spring w/bushing kit.

I stopped in this morning and they only had a handful of shotguns and rifles left.  One was a Stoeger Condor 20 ga. O/U, so i jumped on it.  Looks like a pretty nice shotgun for the price.  Can't wait for September 1 to try it out on a few grouse !!

Stopped in last week and they got one more batch of guns. I grabbed another Remington 597 and a Mossberg 4x4 Mariner 300 Win mag. The guy in front of me grabbed the Stoeger O/U that I wanted.
I'm good for a while.

I am curous how much of a savings compared to before the "going out of buisiness" sale you guys are getting?

My son worked at the store in Covington. I asked him if they had any decent prices, he said they really did not mark anything down just put the signs up and people started buying?

I was getting the guns and ammo at 40% off. I checked each gun before I bought them to make sure they were consistent in pricing. For instance the Remington 597's are $225-250 and I paid $140.

A buddy of mine got 4 cases of 28 gauge shotgun shells at 40% off then used a manufacturer rebate for even more of per case.
