Title: .308 small primer cases
Post by: Bill W on July 15, 2016, 09:53:48 AM
I was digging thru some boxes out in the garage and came across about 70 unfired .308 UBR cases.   Originally I had a project to shoot small groups with the .308 with lead bullets.    I no longer have any .308 rifles.  I think I sold my last one about 4 years ago.  At one time I was interested in Carmichel's .22 Cheetah and if I remember correctly his project involved small primers.

Anyone else played with these cases either in a .308 or using them to form other case projects.

For those who wonder the UBR case was .308 based and had a small primer pocket.

I use 308 palma with the small primer pocketcases made by lapua and neck them down to 243. Supposedly more consistent  velocity. They are a tougher case and can handle more pressure due to the smaller primer pocket. Haven't  had any ignition problems.
