Title: Commercially produced deer/elk food supplement question
Post by: Badhabit on July 18, 2016, 02:07:31 PM
In WA is it legal to place a food supplement for deer/elk on public property and then is it legal to hunt near the area where you put the food supplement? Suggested method of supplement distribution is from a feeder but I really can't see someone investing in a feeder and putting it out on public property only to be removed. Private ground I can sort of see but trespassing and theft would also be a concern. So the easy way would be to hike in a 20lb bag of supplement. Legal to do in WA?

It's legal but there are some new laws on baiting.  The new laws limit the amount and how far apart.  I can't quote the numbers exactly (if I remember right it is 200 yards apart and 10 gal max) but I'm not positive.

Just trying to find out, I was contacted by a distributor of a supplement and asked if I wanted to be the dealer/distributor in the PNW.
