Finally drew a archery bull tag for peaches ridge! I am new to hunting unit 336. I normally hunt elk off teanaway rd. over the summer I have scouted area 336 from taneum ridge all the way up to quartz mountain and scouted all kinds of different elevations. I have had a blast scouting the area and have seen quite a few small bucks and a bob cat. But no luck seeing any elk or any fresh sign. I am looking for any tips on hunting the area. Thank you!!

If I was lucky enough to draw that tag I wouldn't be hunting and competing with the general season guys in 336! Plenty of time left to get your butt over to 346 and figure out areas to hunt. No general season and lots of elk to chase!

That's very true! I have thought about scouting 346 but I am the only one in my group who would be able to hunt 346 so im making a sacrifice. I value my time that I get to spend in the woods with my family and friends so we all bought hammocks and a nice pair of hunting boots and hopefully planning on hiking far in enough so we wouldn't be competing.

Pretty tough hiking that far in , your out the other side.

Try a trip up by the Pacific Crest. The border of Nachees and Taneum from Blow Out Mountain is a good area this time of year. There are hunters that ride trail bikes up there, but after talking to some, they do alright.

U must hunt 346. Its way better. Your friends will have a good time calling and video taping for u. Its a food hunt. If u get on little nachese road and go up the 1922 or the 1920 (logging road) get out of your truck and stay away from the roads u will be into bulls allmost every day. Just dont beautiful too much do lots of Cow calls
