Hi Folks, :hello:
First I have got to say, if you didn't go to this years WSTA Rendezvous you missed out on another great event, and this years was one for the books.
Second I would like to "Thank" all that did go. With out you, all of this wouldn't be possible.
We plan a whole year ahead of time and work hard to put this event together for you. I would like to Thank all of those that put this together and all of the speakers that showed their talent and secretes to all that attended their demo too. I would like to thank all of you that jump up and give a hand too.
The fur trapping class that we put on for first time trappers had around 30 "new" trappers that attended plus three department of Fish & Wildlife personal. We also have four more "new trapper training instructors" that signed up to teach the trapper training classes statewide.
The food was great; :EAT: breakfast, lunch and dinner. During the dinner meal we had a "Fur Show". Our members got a chance to show off their fur garments. That fur show alone was worth going to.
The live auction was another high spot of the rendezvous. Lots of great donated items from vendors across the country including "Cabela's". The Auctioneer kept the house laughing and nobody it seems like was sitting on their hands. Items were going at premium prices and than some. When the auction was over everybody or at least maybe 30-40 people stuck around :party1: and just had fun up until I think (when I left the party) about 1:30-2:00. Sunday morning I think some of them were sleeping in.
Vendors & Suppliers: holy cows, the stuff that was there. If you didn't walk away with anything I would be surprised. People had handful of everything. There was Suppliers selling all of you're trapping needs, vendors selling everything from tools to BB guns to tanned fur.
But the "BEST of ALL" was the Camaraderie, hands down.
Sunday morning there was a couple of small demos and a Board of Directors meeting. Plans were being made for next years rendezvous. Like I said before, we start making the plans a year ahead of time. After clean up and everybody was gone except Bruce, Eric and myself, the three of us started planning some real cool demo's for next years rendezvous. One the best will be what we are going to do and where we are going to hold the demo's. "You're going to want to go to this one" :rockin:
For now, I hope you all had a good time and hope to see you all next year.

It was a good time ! Got to meet and make some new friends and visit some old friends and johns camera was clicking the whole time

You forgot the best part. The New air conditioning! The building was cool and comfortable all day. 68 degrees inside even though it was pushing a 100 outside.
Remember that for next year. No more sweaty dinners or auctions.

Really enjoyed the rendezvous! I've never been to the summer one before. Met some cool people, some of which have been trapping longer than I have been on this earth. Was also pretty happy with the AC! After being indoors for a few hours and then walking outside into the dry 95° heat was startling! I can't imagine what you guys have went thru in years past with no AC! :yike:
