Oh man am I pumped. Went out this morning even though it was foggy to a spot that I called one in last year. I couldn't see past 200yds but set up and called with a rabbit distress. After 4 sets the fog lifted and I just sat there for an extra 10 trying to decide where to go try again. Just as I was about to get up I looked behind me and off to my left and see a yote silhouette about 450yds out. He came running towards me and disappeared into a little dip about 150yds out. Then popped his head over the hill and I should have shot him cause he turned and disappeared. I got the scope on him at 250 and squeezed the shot but must have missed cause he put the afterburners on and was out of there. Went over to where I shot at him and didn't see any sign that I hit him. I hope if ever get good at yote hunting that the adrenaline rush I got today doesn't go away.

Very exciting when things come together, good job, now go hit it again! :chuckle:

Way to go, too bad you didn't spank it. You do it alone or did you head out with Rory? I geuss he and Lloyd are headed out tomorrow.

Hey I called in my first yote today too! Walked out on a ridge and cut a fresh track in the snow, so I set up to call down into the canyon. Sat under a tree for about 10 min. calling rabbit distress. He came running right up the hill and stopped at 20 yards broadside. Whacked him with my 45! Dropped in his tracks.

This time I was alone. Good job norsepeak.

I feel your peaks and valley's of coyote hunting. The high of calling them in and then the lull of missing a shot. Its still fun though.
