Hey guys,
I'm looking into the fishing opportunities around Selah/Yakima/Naches area. I was wondering if any of you would be willing to save me some time and fuel in my scouting???
Looking for good action on Perch and Bluegills, Pumpkinseed, Crappie, etc.

Yakima is tough they plant these ponds with trout at the beginning of the year. They get fished out rather quick. The lakes fill up with alge during summer so the spot are hard to fish. Bass and crappie are tought to find but there out there. Problem is they eat so good here they don't like a lot of baits. I have fished these ponds most of my life it's best to get away and try out of town spots. Like the Columbia and mosses lake ect.

Thanks OtH, we found rotary, but who hasn't?!? Got some kid fishing with kid gear, and my 12yo broke off two good bass with wackys. Would like to find other more rural lakes, rotary isn't much of a place for kids at times... Little too much going on in the brush.

No problem. I did forget to mention a lot of these lakes are dirty. People don't care anymore imo. Myron lake has fish but lots of rules. Selah has a lake that's open to fishing in winter lots of people ice fish it. Just be careful. Don't waste your time with rimrock not a lot of fish. But I would recommend clear Lake dog lake and some of the I82 ponds in which one of the state records of catfish was pulled from pond 3. Salmon come up the Yakima river during may and June and in the fall. Ellensburg has good pond fishing but be careful fiorito ponds just opened back up the toxin levels were too high but still good fishing. You can go onto the WDFD website and see when all the lakes get stocked that will be all I can think of right now. Good luck and tight lines
