Title: Peaches Ridge Archery Bull Tag Questions
Post by: roadhuntking on August 23, 2016, 11:08:22 AM
We will be hunting the Little Naches side. I have lots of waypoints and points of intrest already, and lots of notes from this site and friends and family so im not looking for your honey hole but would be more than appreciated if ya wanna point me in that direction but more or less what these elk are doing this time of year. For example is there parts of the unit that are a waste of time, are they concentrated at high elevations around lakes, down low by the river ect.. I was over there last week and with this dry weather noticed drainages were pretty dry. Also we will be staying in a motorhome (yes I know we'll be roughing it) so wondering best place or suggestions to set up camp in a big rig?

Park the mobile blind. Throw out several bales of alfalfa and wait. Make sure to keep all the windows in the open position so you don't spook the elks.

I've been scouting Naches for cows for my son's muzzy hunt.  I've seen lots of cows and calfs on the cameras around water and one mature bull.  He seems to be past his prime though- saggy belly and not such an impressive rack.  I'm guessing there are more bulls in the area from all the calfs and spikes.  They're all between 3600 and 3400 feet.  I had elk on camera up higher at bear gap but gave up scouting that since the road was pretty rough getting in there.
