Title: Want to hunt wolves in ID. Any ideas?
Post by: Gutpile on August 25, 2016, 12:54:54 PM: My future F.I.L. and I were thinking about trying a little calling for bear this fall and thought it might be fun to try for wolf as well. I'm somewhat familiar with The St. Joe National forest and I've seen sign and heard howling up near the Northfork of the Clearwater which is about 30 miles due south of Avery but I'd like to narrow it a little. Do any of you have any ideas? :dunno: I'd sure like to rug one or two of them *censored*s and I was hoping someone here may have some insight.

Every area seems to be a bit different. The guys I've talked to say they come by in 10 day or so loops. They'll run the logging roads able to smell if the elk are below them. It would be a cool experience but I'd say your odds are looooong. :tup:
