I'm not working and the gf is out of town for the weekend so for once I have a Sunday all to myself. Was thinking about changing my scenery up a little and heading east for bear. I'm not looking for honey holes or your favorite spot but it would be much appreciated if I could get a little direction. I've never hunted easy of the cascades. I know leavenworth is surrounded by national forest but perhaps a general area or fs road that are known to produce. Any specific Eastside tactics? I'm fit so walking, hiking isn't too big of an issue. I will be solo however.

Check out chiwawa river loop road. Goes all the way to trinity. Lots of bears around.just past fish lake.

I could be mistaken, but I thought I heard on KPQ (Wenatchee) radio last night on the way east, that both of those roads were closed due to fire danger. Might want to check first before heading there.

According to the usda website it's closed 2 miles before trinity. Thanks for the heads up
