Title: Rimrock Advice
Post by: maximus on September 09, 2016, 09:39:08 AM
Looking for some ideas of areas to backpack into for early season archery. This is my second season and due to getting married this summer I have been unable to do any scouting this year.

Initial thoughts are to head into either the N or S forks of the Tieton.

Solo hunting and excited to cover some ground. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Either of those areas you might be solo but definitely won't be alone. ... lots of elk bring lots of elk hunters

Look up towards mccall basin. Should be able to get away up there.

Tagged out on day 2 of the season, cow at 30 yds! First elk, first animal. Learned a lot through this experience and excited to keep progressing in the sport. Now on to prepping for antelope in WY...

Great job!  I was up there last weekend and didn't see any elk and found very little fresh sign.  Will be back there again this weekend.

The local elk down low are running scared. Get some elevation and they are in summertime habits. Free roaming like all the beef cows in the unit.
