Title: Meindl Alaskans?
Post by: MHWASH on September 10, 2016, 09:34:33 AM: I'm considering buy a slightly used pair for $200. I've read all the reviews about them not being as good quality as before. But are they worth $200, compared to the $350 new price? I originally planned on buying the Kenetrek Mtn extremes, but for less than half the cost I'm considering these.

Post by: jdb on September 10, 2016, 11:06:12 AM: I just went though the boot buying process and tried on several bouts and did tons of research. The Alaskans for me were way to stiff. If your a high mountain hunter or are doing a sheep hunt maybe but for my style they were just way to stiff.

Post by: MHWASH on September 12, 2016, 05:50:51 AM: Tried on the 9s at Cabelas yesterday, but they didn't fit right. Way too much room in the foot box. Ended up with the Kenetrek like I had planned. Sure was hard pulling the trigger though.
