Well last night was impossible to sleep because we had bulls bugling non stop all night. Morning came and it was dead silent, not a single bugle. Just the sound of rain. We walked up to a familiar spot, where my buddy tagged out the year before on a 6x6 opening morning, and let out a locator. A few seconds later a faint bugle off in the distance. We head that way.
Once we got to where we thought we may be close we call a little, the bull answers. I move ahead while my buddy stays back to call. As I am doing so I notice the bull. I sneak up a little more, and he his coming in slowly looking around. I get set and range him. 100yds broadside so I raise up to shoot and POP! The dreaded misfire! I quickly put another cap on and he's getting spooky. I was flustered And rushed the 2nd shot. A clean miss. The bull then runs up the hill.
We run up the small rise and notice cows single file line up the steep ridge into the timber. The bull then rips off another bugle and we see him following. I sit down and rest on a log and range. 120yds. Buddy stops him in an opening and BOOM! Direct hit. He goes into some trees and never comes out. We head up that way and I spot him, right as he spots me but he didn't get up. I put one in his neck at 10yds and its over! Nice 5x5 I'm the same spot as we got it done the year before! Tagged out with a buck and a bull in Washington, bring on Idaho mule deer next week!(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fuploads.tapatalk-cdn.com%2F20161001%2Fa991fcbb518b2244c67a93d0dc862018.jpg&hash=7c503a1e5e45783ab702c7f1cf621c213516422c)(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fuploads.tapatalk-cdn.com%2F20161001%2F38d70ee711223d5cfc9de741008a86ff.jpg&hash=0741b4432ee3292375ae87e23c6f94033895db2e)(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fuploads.tapatalk-cdn.com%2F20161001%2Fb4b890152118e816964f6b082ec71ddf.jpg&hash=f87d83d0e5f4a740a1f5903549105ee7fb0e347f)(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fuploads.tapatalk-cdn.com%2F20161001%2F2c5bb4bb33a29f4dadfc2a7f66a5a074.jpg&hash=4597852f9d68aa626c092021d0ee9fab1123f665)(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fuploads.tapatalk-cdn.com%2F20161001%2Fb8104fee43be6427836ba132db825760.jpg&hash=4ae00866d0f53d176fa894a596aec1b5c71dc9cf)(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fuploads.tapatalk-cdn.com%2F20161001%2F07451c8b055569b2d9e2f35f94d8864b.jpg&hash=f65518265571094ef99236fe503b8392f7b23412)

Here's the bullet. 300gr T/C shockwave. Went through the front shoulder and out behind the opposite side shoulder and lodged in the skin. The hole was almostvthe size of a baseball(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fuploads.tapatalk-cdn.com%2F20161002%2F549cd766162742e66a22d0fcd58e5474.jpg&hash=6db0d5c40ddb68ed55098185958686bf117c1555)
