Title: Idaho Unit 23
Post by: hogslayer on October 02, 2016, 08:12:00 PM
I am headed for my first Idaho adventure with a buddy.  We are both experienced hunters and are really excited for the hunt.  We decided unit 23 for the deer tag/elk tag.  I have never been to the area but have about 15 hours into topo maps, google earth, biologist, and have a pretty good game plan.  Seeing if anyone has some experience with this area and might have a little info that could help with the learning curve and the short (4) days i have to hunt.  Thanks...

Hey,
Its still really warm there so the higher the better. Hunted last year and the fires scared them off into different areas...by the time we smelled the fires, the deer were already set up and at the bar. This year may be better as its a little quieter than last year.
