Predator called a mother bear in to my spot this evening with cubs in tow. She got wind of me and charged without hesitation right at me from about 30 yards. I had the bear spray out and ready on the ground beside me and I emptied it on her. She spun around and headed down the hill leaving the cubs in the tree nearby. I grabbed my stuff and got out of there before the cubs came down or she came back. Wish it had been a boar because I'd have a freezer full of meat right now but I'm happy to report that bear spray is a very effective deterrent. Glad I didn't have to shoot a sow with cubs.

Glad it worked for you and you got out of it safe. There has been some people just recently that it has not worked for.

Wow! I'm glad you didn't have to shoot mama.

Glad it worked for you and neither you, the sow, or cubs didn't get hurt or even worse. Good to hear and way to be ready.
