Title: Unit 233 help or push in the right direction
Post by: scottfrick on October 10, 2016, 05:22:42 PM
Taking my wife and sister over this next weekend looking to get them their first muledeer buck. My wife also has a second deer tag for a whitetail doe In her pocket. It's been many years since I've been in the unit. What I need to know is how much public ground is there left? It seems like every new year more land becomes private and I don't want to be caught on it trying to get them their deer. Any help would be deeply appreciated!  We will be staying in omak at the quality inn Monday-Wednesday.

Most of the unit burned to bare dirt last year, and the previous yr.  Ive hunted here most my life and wont be going this yr.  I have a late Whitetail buck tag that I am considering eating.  My opinion is the unit needs to recover.  Wt doe shouldnt be a hard tag to fill, but be prepared to see more orange vests than deer.

Thanks for the reply. I have a few different spots I'm going to check out. I've hunted around conconully so we will probably head there first looking for a mule deer buck. Then go looking for a whitetail doe.

I wish you luck, maybe check out some higher country with the recent high snow for mulies .  WT doe shouldn't be too much of a battle.     If you see a big WT buck, tie him too a tree for me  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
