Getting close. Rick
-
Rick, how's it going with that cow tag? We. We haven't laid eyes on a single Elk yet. It's turning out a lot like last year in the wind. Hopefully they start moving soon and we need some weather to move in.
-
Tough getting close no live ones. Going towards goose lake in the morning maybe. Camped at trout lake. Rick
-
Still at it quiet out there. Will get more hunters tomorrow to move the elk around. To nice out LOL. Rick

Almost hit the Herd on Friday. Found a spot with action Carr road dead. Hunting hard. Rick
Just got cell service again.

Good luck. We cut it short and bailed today, not much action south of you guys.
-
Three more days good rain maybe I will get lucky. Didn't have cell service since Friday. Wish me luck. Rick
-
Only deer today hanging in there two days Left. Seen three bucks today two big ones. Hard rain and dark maybe they will be out enough in the morning. Rick
-
Good luck Rick. I'm pulling for you!
-
Real heavy rain beating down on trailer. Should help in the morning. Rick

Not making we feel warm and fuzzy for my late season muzzle loader cow tag for the Wind...
-
Wish I were in your boots! Good luck!
-
Good luck way to stay positive
-
Last day. Hardest hunt I have done. Seen a huge buck and several dandy's chasing the girls. Will be nice tomorrow getting home and seeing my Grandson I did get him a bear rug in June. Another hour and it's magic time. Rick

Snowing.
-
Good luck! Hunting in the snow is always fun, and seeing nice bucks is a plus!
-
That is not an easy tag to fill. I've gotten some pictures of really nice bulls in there on game cam, but hunting them is a whole different story. Saw one cow in there during deer season, but that's it.

Heading into the Wind this weekend to hopefully fill my muzzleloader cow permit. Praying for snow but wishing I had more time to hunt!
-
Didn't get my elk. See most action around Carr rd and south. Rick
-
Agreed, most of the sign i saw was off of Carr road.

I'll be back in the Wind tomorrow morning chasing them Elk also with my multi-season Elk tag. Hopefully the hunting has gotten better now that we have some harsher weather and maybe even some snow.
The Wind River is really one of those units where you need the weather to get the Elk moving, some of the best modern Elk seasons there is when we had the worst weather, mostly between 2005-12, in those years I took 4 bulls and a cow, all were killed during days when it was windy, rainy and foggy or we had good snow. With these mild weathered modern seasons that we've had the last few years the Elk have been tough to get, I'm 0-4 :bash: but that's hunting.

Muzzle loader cow tag. Spent the last three days in the Wind and didn't see chit...all the tracks were old. They're holed up somewhere I suppose.
