I just wanted to point something out that I just found out yesterday. The fall turkey season in the NE runs longer this year. It runs through Oct 31. In past years it usually closed right before modern firearm deer season opened. I was deer hunting last weekend in Stevens county but was unaware of the change. I'll be picking up some tags for this weekend as we saw lots of turkeys the previous weekend! For some reason the change is not highlighted in red like most changes are in the regs. If you plan on hunting deer in the NE this weekend you might wanna bring some turkey tags!

If we have a bad winter up here it's not going to be pretty. There will be lots of starving turkeys.. May as well put them in the freezer. I have never seen the amount of turkeys as this year.

I wonder if I should post this under the deer hunting category? Not too many people probably pay attention to this turkey category in the fall.
I know I dont, even though spring turkey hunting is my favorite hunting.

I don't think I'd post under deer hunting. I think anyone who's a true turkey hunter will see it and might be to tempting for deer hunters running around with rifles to flaunt the reg. just my :twocents:
