Possible.  Also very possible your three days of hunting (and any other hunters in the area) radically changed game distribution and behavior.

I've had "vocal" wolves move into a few basins/draws in ID I hunt and the elk seemed to shut up pretty tight for a day or two.  Conversely, I have a series of trail cam pics of a natural mineral lick/meadow in ID from this year where there two wolves came in right at daylight, sniffed around in the area for a few minutes, left, and then a small group of elk came right in to the same spot within 15 minutes and spent most of the morning feeding and lying around.  Moose and various deer also visited that lick/meadow over the course of the day.  Not sure what that all means, but the ungulates weren't too spooked by the scent of the big dogs from what I could see in the pics.
