What started life as a Remington 300 Win Mag LSS is now a 7mm Blaser Magnum slinging 180 Berger HVLD's 3050 FPS with 68.5gr RL26. It shot 3100 with 69gr but it left a very faint ejector mark and Shawn didn't like that so 68.5gr at 3050 it'll be. Shot some of the 175 ELD-X bullets through it and they went a bit faster at 3115 fps but didn't spend much time with those.
Build Specs.
Rem 700 LA
Rem Factory LSS stock pillar bedded
Hard #4 1-8tw finished at 26in. w/Defensive Edge brake
HS Prec. Det. Mag.
Jewel Trigger 1.5lbs
Cerakoted Black
NF 5.5-22x50 sitting in a NF Direct Mount

That looks great! I love the chamberin too. You definitely get bonus points for being different.

Well, considering you've created or been involved in, quite a few rather obscure chamberings, I'll take that as a compliment so thank you.
I originally was going to have a 7 WSM built but I couldn't really find any brass. Briefly considered the 7 Rem Mag but l hate belted cases. At first I was only going to do a 24in barrel so any of the larger 7's didn't make a lot of sense. Then I stumbled upon the Blaser line of cartridges. Their brass is made by Norma, which is a good thing. It was easily available, an even better thing and it looked like it should be well balanced for the .28 caliber bullets as well as would work well in the Rem 700 LA I would be using so I took a chance but it's looking like it'll be a keeper.
I'd maybe like to see what this case would be like necked down to 6.5 shooting the 140's or maybe a 270 version shooting that new Berger 170 grainer but doing a fast twist 270 to shoot those 170's only leaves you with one bullet and what happens if that one bullet doesn't work out. :yike:
If nothing else, I'm pretty sure there aren't to many others like it out there. ;)
