I wanted to see if any of you guys have a comparrison or opinions on these two rifles. I am looking to get a rifle in 6.5 CM for both hunting and also I want to start shooting long range. I originally was sold on the Ruger but I looked at the Savage and really like it. But I have no experience with either. The Savage is $500.00 cheaper from the gun shop and it has a fluted barrel which I like. The Ruger has great reviews but I don't see a need for a folding stock but I do like the adjustable stock. If I got the Savage I'd put a Magpul PRS stock on if possible. Also $500.00 could go towards glass. So I am leaning towards the Savage but wanted to get your thoughts.

I'm a huge savage fan and have fondled the rifle. It is on my short list to buy.......all my savages are great shooters and I have no reason to believe the rifle stated would be any different.

I'd look at the savage 10 t in 6.5 cm unless your stuck on a chassis gun. The 10t has a nice stock and heavy barrel. The one I shot would shoot 2 different hornady factory loads 1/2 moa at 220 yards. And it's $600

And if you have time are patient, they can be cheaper. A Month or so ago the 10T was 530.00, then combine and cabelas bucks, financing incentives etc and they can be even less expensive.

 Looks like Cabelas has this for $499.00 right now. Tempting.

The Sauer 100 xt will be out soon and should be a decent competitor.

The savage is over a pound lighter, factory blue printed action and well proven barrel quality.
A freind of mine has the ruger in .308 and said he wasn't impressed for the money he spent.

Saw this at Cabela's. I liked it alot. A bit spendy though. Savage Model 10 APO

If you are asking for opinions, my opinion is for the Savage. I own and really enjoy a few Ruger rifles, but I think the Ruger Precision is a little over done and quite a bit over priced.
Ruger does well selling the Precision at it's price point, but I personally would rather go with the Savage. The Savage is a very nice rifle and the price seems very fair.
