I'm having trouble understanding the daily bag limit. There isn't anything about the American wigeon or teals. Does this mean you can get as many wogeon and traps as you want? I went hunting last weekend and I got one duck and I believe it was a wigeon.

Sorry for the typos....didn't mean traps....stupid autocorrect I meant teals and wigeons

Daily bag limit is 7 ducks. They can be all teal, or all wigeon, or a combination thereof. The individual limits, such as 2 hen mallards applies to the total daily limit of 7 ducks. I.e, you can shoot 2 hen mallards and then 5 other ducks and still be within compliance.
Make sense?

Yes thank you for the reply, I usually hunt with my other friends who know what they are doing but this weekend I am going on my own for the first time. Just don't want to break any rules.

Good for you for asking.
It can be a little daunting when you first get started, but it gets easier,
Happy hunting!

Also notice the 2 pintail per day limit! They have a knack for knowing when you've already shot the two you're allowed per day, then really start piling into the decoys
-
Hopefully you will get somewhere near 7, today was extremely slow. 15 minutes before shooting time I had multiple flocks in my decoys then when legal time turned over it was like someone flipped a switch and the morning flight was over before it began.
Warm calm days are not helping.

Yeah they don't seem to fly when it's warm out. I went last weekend and missed so many shots the first hour. I could of had like 7 ducks but only came out with 1. I'm going to go pattern my gun tomorrow so I know how it shoots. I was missing birds flying straight infront me landing in my spread!

What choke are you shooting? I typically shoot I/C over decoys on the water.

Welcome to duck hunting. If we understand half our misses we are doing good. If I was a guessing man I'd say you missed the ones landing in front of you by shooting over them.
