Got it done last week not a world class Buck but it is the biggest rack I have seen while hunting. I am the jacknut that y'all hate because I literally drove up a road and shot him the first day I hunted. Passed on a really nice two point that was about 150 yards from the road chasing does and raking every bush he could find. Found this one chasing a hot doe and took about four hours to finally seal the deal and get him on the ground about half mile from my truck.
Packed out the cape and front shoulders in the dark that night, and did i mention it was dark and I now hate chukars! Holy cow walking through the tall grass back to my truck and the dog gone things explode under my feet must have been about 20 of them. Got back to my truck and had to change my shorts hahaha. Went back the next morning and packed out the rest of him in one pack ribs with neck, and both hind quarters. When I got him to the butcher he weighed in at 131 pounds hanging.

Great buck. How wide?

On the first day it is tough to pass a buck like that. People do it but you have to be willing to eat the tag if you do. Good job and congratulations on a dandy buck.

Not sure I did not measure, I can let you know in about year when I get him back from the taxidermist :chuckle:

Thank you, I sat on him for an hour waiting for him to stand up after watching him bed down. Gave me time to really think about whether to pass or shoot and really check him out, but could not let him go. There was a 3x3 in the same area, but quite a bit smaller than this guy.

I'd have shot him day 1! Nice mature buck, and that short back tine on the back fork (G2) is so characteristic of east Cascades mule deer. Congratulations!

Thank you, yeah I was making some noise cause I did not want a Deer to jump up in front of me and those darn things just about gave me a heart attack. I could only see about 80 or so feet in front of me with my headlamp and knew if a Deer was there it would stand way before I got to it.
