Title: Hunting high elevation?
Post by: ChefEff on November 15, 2016, 01:25:51 PM
Novice waterfowler here. While there are lowland lakes and ponds within an hours drive of me, there are also a few higher elevation lakes around my neck of the woods.  Can the high lakes be productive for ducks, or would it be just a waste of time?  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Its usually pretty rare you will see a duck in the High Elevation lakes, if they are there its usually just on their way thru

Mainly goldeneyes, broods rather than flocks.  I would think earlier would be best.  The best waterfowl hunting in or near Chelan Co. by far is the Columbia River.
