Can't say I have ever been in a Levi store
-
This post needs moving to Outdoor Advocacy.
I expect the backlash from country folks on this policy will be swift and effective.
-
Levi's has been very anti-hunting for the past 20 years, so already brushed them off.
-
I did not know. All I wear is levis.
-
All I used to wear was Levi's. Now I wear Kirkland brand and they are tough to beat for $15.

My opinion is that if you own a business you should be free to run it the way you want to run it. You own it, you make the rules.
Gun owners who think they should have a right to carry in a private business or residence are about the same as those who feel the lady who makes cakes should be required to cater a gay wedding which goes against her religious feelings or, people who wont shop at a chain store because it sells Ivanka Trumps shoes.
It's a state of mind everyone is in right now. Everyone thinks they are entitled to do whatever they want without regard for anything or respecting any ownership.

All due respects but I call BS on your post. This has nothing to do with "peoples' state of mind right now" or entitlement. They have a right to run their store they way they want and I have a right to withhold my business if I feel their business practices suck or, as in this case, serve to leave me vulnerable. I don't go to theaters for the same reason. It's called capitalism, not entitlement.

Levis has every right to make whatever policies they wish. I have every right to not spend a dime on their products.
-
Nowadays only illegal aliens wear Levis anyway.

So the constitution is entitlement?
It is the company's right to have this policy but I also have the right to avoid business with said company. It has nothing to do with entitlement.
It blows my mind that companies decide to get political and alienate their customer base. There is no upside to a company getting involved in a controversial subject like this. I will use Delta Airlines as an example when the famous Cecil the Lion was legally shot by a hunter.

LEVI'S have the right to ask/tell me not to pack in thier store. I won't disagree or fight that.
That doesn't mean I have to buy thier product or reinforce thier view. Additionally I find it my duty to tell people to avoid companies like this whenever possible.

Exactly. The point is that people push the line and make an issue of it and don't respect each other. And yes, don't support their business if you can't walk into their store without your sidearm.
I think government far over reaches when they tell a business how to operate and who they must serve. It is a dicey line when it comes to civil rights but again, why not be happy to support someone mre like minded with your cash?
The florist who didn't want to do the gay wedding was just in the supreme court.
-
Remember the Starbucks deal, wear your gun and sit in Starbucks stores?

You don't go into theaters why? Do they search for guns now? Haven't been in a while.

I took my wife to a concert lately, and carried TWO guns in right past their "No Guns Allowed" sign. :)

I thought a straight arrow like you weren't into civil disobediance! ;)

The Constitution is a restraint on government, it is not a restraint on individual actors.

The way I understand civil disobedience would mean to carry a gun into a place where its illegal to do so, such as a national park ( a few years ago)...

I don't know if they search or not and don't care to find out. Just the fact that they create a safe space that could attract wackos is enough for me to stay away. I'm not a fan of gun free zones. They make people unsafe.

No, that's not what happened at the Levi Store. There was an errant discharge of a firearm. It resulted in an injury to the carrier. This wasn't about people pushing the line and carrying all over the place. And, Rob made the exact same point I made. They have a right to run their stores the way they want and I have a right to not buy their crap. Capitalism.
"Recently, we had an incident in one of our stores where a gun inadvertently went off, injuring the customer who was carrying it."
-
Levi Strauss is asking customers not to pack in their stores as a result of a negligent discharge injured one of their employees. They're not banning guns from their stores. Not an unreasonable request given the circumstances. As usual idiots ruining it for the rest of us. That being said if they want to ban guns in their stores I will either choose to ignore their ban or simply not give them my business. Their choice and my choice.
-
The article said that it injured the man carrying the firearm. :dunno:
-
I won't leave my gun in the car so I can walk into an establishment that wants to sell me stuff. simple.
I won't go to a Seahawks game either.

Time to find another product. Do it time and again. Money talks.
-
No don't boycott them go armed since it does say request not a mandate. tell them I respectfully decline to abide by our asinine request. :hello:
Or he Thanks but no thanks I feel safer carrying thank you.
-
Try cinch or wrangler. Both support hunting and right to carry

.....that's because they're made there, silly !
