There's a Mr. heater in the class ads. http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,204772.0.html is the Evercalm 190 proof? you can start a fire with that stuff or drink to warm yer inside.

Use a ground blind if ya can. Sleeping bag, blanket and Mr Buddy heater.
-
I'm with ya. I got two days left (today and tomorrow) here in republic. Was -6 at 8 yesterday morning. Haven't checked the temp this morning. I usually wait till the afternoon to go out...when it's a "tolerable" 12 or so degrees. Good luck
-
Good luck Cryder! I hope you get him!

Edited the title of the thread.
Stay warm Cryder, good luck.

You don't think he was hunting with his female dog? :dunno: :dunno: :chuckle:

I have a pair of these. Mine are a different brand name. I have had people make fun of them, and then take offense when I am not really sympathetic to their feet freezing when they are sitting in a stand.

And a muff that you wear around your neck instead of gloves or mittens.

Isn't this Climate Change a hoot!!! :chuckle:
And to think college's and groups are getting millions to say its man caused!!! :yike:
Stay warm, its only going to get cooler for a few days! :o

Here is what I would suggest using. It is called The Heater Body Suit. Does anyone have any experience with it?

Suck it up buttercup! Lol. This cold is our best chance tomorrow! Lots of hand warmers anywhere you can stuff them. Daytime deer activity has gone through the roof since the real cold finally showed up.
The best part of the final day is you know you are letting one fly no matter what...I pitty the slick head that's in the feed at 4:15 if my target buck doesn't show up.
Good luck!

I have owned one for about 5 years and finally used it this year. Worked really well, but only hunted down to about 28 degrees back in November. The only issue is that I can't put it on in a climber, not enough room. Used it in a ground blind. Next year I'll be hunting out of hang-ons and it will get used. Confident with proper attire underneath, all day sits are going to be a lot more comfortable.

Have a friend whose wife watched television and decided that they were going to be a hunting team like the husband & wife she saw on television. She has never hunted a day in her life and doesn't know crap, but within three weeks she was an expert. Had gone out and purchased about $2K in woman specific hunting apparel. She has prided herself on having starved herself until she looks like she was just liberated by the allies from Bergen-Belsen and proceeded to take all of the clothing to a tailor and by the time they were done with it it fit her like a latex glove... and she spent about 15 minutes in a deer stand, in October, in 40 degree weather before she decided she couldn't take the cold any longer.
I use loose fitting blaze orange Cabela's insulated overalls if it is really cold or a Filson overall if it is not really cold, just wet and a loose fitting blaze orange Cabela's parka and had to have it zipped down to the bottom of my ribs to vent off excess heat. I find loose fitting to be the biggest thing when it comes to keeping warm.

I am very disappointed in this thread. The OP is always very entertaining, but this time there is nothing to decipher. Cryder, you need to get back on your game.
And hurry up and fill that deer tag, today is your last day, and I don't care if it is cold outside, we are not in Alberta.

I hope he doesn't go all popsicle. Hopefully he is hunting in a tree by an open field in case we need to send the choppa in to get him out they will need a place to land. It's yote season and guys with missle silos will be all over the place in no time.

Based off this quote and the other conversation, if you're chasing these white flags around on foot, my hats off too you. Got my interest? Sounds like an epic ending to the season.

Loved the heck out of it! I wouldn't have it any other way! They're crafty, to say the least. Had him at about 60 yards, but I'm not confident at that range. It was lovely to see him though, and chase him for a bit. Next year....

Benoit with a bow, I like it.

Well after fish n feathers sucked all the life out of my wallett i knew the game very well and i knew ma nature was on there side too, lets see now all the battles of washington hunting,,,, money, regulations, idiots, fires, road closeures, jeep clubs , full blown chevy headers, corderoy camoes, opening day christian rock concerts, parking fees, old age, and now this !! I spent 5.5 hours , yep counting that last half hour ,in the stand yesterday,i didnt even hear a crow till 2 oclock , absaguloooooolly nothing all day , i didnt want to make my ducent but i had to have working limbs on me somewhere to get down, then makeing my way back to the vehicular i had a doe and a spike cross the trail in front of me. I geuss it was the overwhelming handsomeness but they locked up on me at 20 yards ! Frozen but thawing i still had my trusty trigger on so i began my ever so slow attemp to get a arrow back in and i did ! Got to pull back just about sited and then that other last but not least factor raained down on my last day freeeeeegan timidness of all critters , they bolted ! I followed them cuz they werent moving fast, i saw the doe run over the hill that im not climbing and turned around took ten steps and theres the spike ,grazeing 30 yards out perfect shot, im alredy nocked so im acually cracking my upper lip cuz im smileing ! And of course getting the bow up spooks him into next year . Well they got my money but all the way home i was very happy with this years entertainment to ssy the least ! Soooo,,, fish n feathers , there is still a naked spot in my freezer but i still feel i won some how ,, WOW ! What a season , that 4+5 will be there next year nobody will make the hike i do to get there, specialy all the true slacked jawed yokels liveing outhere, heck , they never get out of there one doored toyota! So my health battle permitting im right back at that buvk next year ,, lets all remember its not the destination its the journey ! That might be harley jargga but it still fits !!! So back to the mighty columbia for smoker material and yes plenty of cajun twinkees ! So if your headed to the columbia dont forget the arbys sauce i got the rest . ONE LAST TIME ,,,,,GET OUT THERE !!
-
True wisdom right there! Congrats on a satisfying season Cryder!

Hey Cryder, don't give up on that empty spot in ur freezer yet. Get out there and scoop up some roadkill deer that that one doored yota runs over while he's zoomoing home.
Merry Christmas to you!! PS, Santa's glad you didn't shoot his reindeer. :chuckle:
-
Well you gave it your best BRO, you late season east side guys in this weather are CRAZY.
Can we get some fishing threads on your upcoming trips, see how you compare to offdahook on those. :chuckle:

 nice ending to your story. Thanks for sharing

Now I am satisfied: The Master hath returned!
Single doored Toyota means what? The passenger door is missing? Or, they purposely drive like that? I need to get out and see more of flyover Washington.

That's what it's all about man, getting out and having fun! Thanks for the story and good luck next year!
