was out coyote hunting today in gmu418. was set up over a big clearcut.on my 3rd setup of the morning. i saw movement along the bottom on the timberline. big cougar walking the edge. here i was with my 835 and he was out about 250 yds so all i could do was watch. gave him some rabbit squeals but he paid no attention . really made the hair stand up on the back of my neck lol

Been hunting since I was a little turd and been working in the woods my entire life and have yet to see a cougar. I have to date seen a couple bears on the job over on the Longbranch Peninsula and a Bobcat over there also. That's it.
Very cool you got to see one.

Theres still a some nice cats in the 418 and 437, you just dont run into that much. I know where a couple were hanging out during deer season.

Called a female cougar and two fair sized kittens in one year turkey hunting,,,,,,,took her picture looking at me a 12 yards.
Makes one re-think the "I'm the highest thing on the food chain out here"..............LOL. :yike:

That's cool, I've never seen a cougar. This year archery elk I saw my first bear that wasn't just a blur & a bob cat chasing a snowshoe hare. Both really cool experiences, seeing my first cougar would be a high light. What sucks is I'm sure there are cougars out there that have seen me plenty. Mike
