Hunting with my nephew again on the Big C, we shot limits of mostly divers with a few widgeon mixed in and my 7th duck turned out to be a drake can. I've been looking for a good one for years for my wall and it finally happened.

Congrats, if I ever get one it will be going straight to the taxidermist. Show off the mount when you get it back.

I know nothing about ducks. Are they rare or what is the significance?

Nice! ...and a great looking lab, too

Nice! That's one of two freshwater ducks in Washington I haven't gotten yet.

Kind of rare especially in the Pacific flyway. Plus they've been closed off and on over the years. They're known as the king of ducks. Supposedly the best eating duck out there. Market hunters used to get top dollar for 'cans' on the east coasts from resturaunts that served them.
