Title: ? for the seasoned bobcat traper?
Post by: bear hunter on December 23, 2016, 09:49:29 PM
Do bobcats eat bobcat meat. I saved all 4 quarters. Should I grind it up with beaver caster and skunk oil. I was thinking of making a paste bait or mix with beaver meat and hang in the trap. Any info woukd be appreciated. Thanks

Some of the best lure makers swear by bobcat based bait. I have never liked the chunked cat meat for bait though.
I do however think using ground cat meat as a base with a good dose of castor and  a minimal amount of skunk essence sounds pretty good though.
