Might want to check out Yakutat lodge or 1 of the other lodges in Yakutat. I worked for part of a season filling in for a guide there, world class fishing on the Situk river or surrounding rivers and a lot of halibut to be had on the salt out of Yakutat.
The lodge is relatively inexpensive compared to the lodges I worked at out of Craig and Ketchikan but then again, its a lodge for fisherman, not a 5 star full service lodge.

What are you looking for overall a great trip, a meat trip, a fly fishing trip, a new adventure.?.?  Who will be on the trip; you and buddies, you and wife, you and kids.?.?

Yakutat, Pelican, or Elfin Cove.

Depends on your budget.  You could easily do DIY sockeye on the Kenai and then a charter out of Deep Creek or a fly in luxury place.

Do you have any military affiliation?  If so, the Seward Military Resort is the place to go...

I'd definitely check out Chinook Shores, we had a blast there, good people.

I went a few years back for Sockeye and Halibut.  We stayed at the campground in Soldotna (Centennial Park $21/night) and fished from camp on the Kenai.  It was crowded (late July) but we all limited out every day.  We drove down to Homer and chartered a half-day halibut trip and limited as well.  I think I spent about $700 total (plus airfare to Anchorage) and came home with 125# of fish.  We have a buddy living in Anchorage that took care of all the logistics, transportation, and gear.

:) Thanks, I will likely be alone, I want good fun and to catch fish, biggest or most fish is not MANDATORY. spinning gear or level wind. I am a pretty low key take it as it comes guy.
Would love to see some animals too. I want to use a guide. I would like to keep it under 3 grand.
Do any of you guys go armed or trust the guide?
thanks again
Carl
