Mom lives on the lower Columbia river just down from the Cowlitz/Wahkiakum county line. Big pods of sea lions and birds just started rolling upriver past her place today. Not sure if they will give us a season but it's nice to see that a large school of them things is still around.

Looked this morning. Already a big group of sea lions clogging the mouth of the Coweeman river, looks like they are on vacation without a care in the world, and another bunch of lions made it up to Castle Rock, so there's already some smelt in the Cowlitz. I still don't see a lot of birds up here though.
