All I can say is WOW!

Chaffetz must've gotten some serious pressure to do this.  :twocents:

Just for reference, HR 621 would have SOLD to the highest bidder approximately 3.3 million acres of federal public lands in the west.

However, this is just one victory in a storm of other bills at the state and federal levels.

:yeah: There are a lot of powerful (rich & influential) voices in favor of this that most of us will never hear. Their campaign contributions will be tough for lawmakers to forgo in spite of the noise made by outdoorsmen and women.

Wow, despite disagreeing: I'm impressed. Congrats to those who successfully lobbied their legislators. It works!

I definitely wrote some letters on this one. But I agree with some of you; this is just the beginning.

In my local paper today, they referenced a political science professor who thinks this proposal was basically a test balloon.  In other words, there'll be more attempts coming down the pike, in one form or another.  Stay vigilant!

I was reading on hunttalk this morning. The folks from Utah really can't stand this guy it seems. They're hoping to get rid of him as their rep soon.
Comments about someone holding his dog while he changed his clothes into the camo outfit he has on as they raced to the woods for some publicity shots.
:chuckle:

Some people sure are cynical. How can that be?

Excellent news!

Now we just keep up the work and ensure all the other related bills die too.

He should stick to grilling DHS and State, he's been doing great work in that area.

Don't bet on that happening - the 3rd district in Utah would vote in the devil if he was on the republican ticket.  Unless the republicans put up a candidate to oppose him (not much chance of that as he's highly thought of in Utah republican circles) it won't happen.  He comes from an area in Utah that really wants to get their hands on Federal land for a variety of reasons. (none in the best interests of outdoor enthusiasts).  I stated in the other thread on this topic that I'm betting his next tactic will be to introduce a bill that guarantees public access to any lands sold.  Just be very careful about what constitutes public access in Utah.  Public access does not necessarily include access to hunt or fish in an area.

So what if he changed clothes! Everything in this world is marketed.   In other words, made to look good!

But I guess everyone can shoot a gunwerks rifle at 1500 yds and kill elk, cause thats how they market it.

Give credit where credit is due.  Did we ever see Obama in Camo?

I like his oversight efforts.
