Greetings,
I am looking for ideas and recommendations/references for King Salmon fishing charters either saltwater, Columbia river, or Canada. The charter guy my friends and I have fished with for several years (over 10) is not going to fish Salmon out of Neah Bay this year and is selling his boat, but may be back next year with a smaller boat.
What I am looking for is a boat for at least four guys (up to six) and not a party boat with 20 other people. Accommodations close to the dock as well. Just started to look at Canada because we could fish Halibut too, and Alaska would be too expensive for the entire group.
What do you guys have, West Port, Illwaco, Columbia River, Canada?? Open to suggestions
Thanks
Bob

I second that. We went tuna fishing with him last year and he did a great job.

Will do, a Tuna trip might be in order instead, but I sure love offshore King fishing!

RB,
A good friend of mine owns Excel charters out of Neah Bay. If you want to keep fishing Neah Bay he would be a hard boat to beat. Although it's a way different vibe than your used to, Tom runs a zero stress boat and drills fish. He can accommodate up to 5 people Trolling salmon and I believe his boat is a Uniflite Salty Dog 34'. The boat is like a Cadillac on the water. He also owns The Inn at Neah Bay which is by far the best accommodations around, they offer a discount if you book rooms and trips. It's about 4 miles from the dock

Just curious who you fished with before in Neah Bay? There isn't many charters out there so its kinda surprising someone is pulling out.

I went to tofino last July and we limited in. An hr on kings then went for bottom fish. All kings were over 20lbs .Clayoquot Ventures.

I'm betting he fish with Jambo. Hell of a nice guy and great fisherman.
I'd call Todd Girtz of Todd's Extreme Fishing. He runs a smaller boat, only 4 guys but fishes harder than any captain I know. This year is a pink year too so a boat limit is 12 kings, 12 pinks and 60 rockfish. That is his goal everyday. When the kings are biting good he aims for a 20 pound average. I deck handed for him for a couple seasons and no one comes back to the dock with more or bigger fish.

Jambos Sportfishing is pulling out for the season he is only fishing offshore Ling and Halibut then selling the Malia Kai to downsize. Said he is planning on going back next season with a smaller boat fish salmon. Hell of a great guy and the boat is really comfortable to fish from.
