Some buddies of mine and I are getting into the 7mm-08 and are wondering about what cominations to start with for reloads. Any suggestions? Mostly for deer and an occasional elk.

RL-15 with about any 120gr. bullet has been pretty good for me.
The load I'm useing in my current 7-08 is 44.5gr RL-15 and 120gr. NBT.=3000fps

Jamieb,
What other bullets have you tried and what barrel length are you shooting?
-
Varget and H414 are the go-to powders for the 51mm casing.
I get excellent accuracy from H414 but my next will be Varget

The 7-08 I'm shooting right now has a 20" BBL. 120gr speer and hornady SP's shot Well, right around 1" @ a 100 yards. 120 gr V-max's shoot real accurate in my rifle and I was loading them for a cheap plinking load but any more I shoot my hunting load for practise, 120gr NBT's. The other bullet I've tried and had good luck with is the 120 gr Barnes TSX. Very accurate but pricey for plinkeing. I loaded 44 to 45.5 rg of RL-15 with all the above bullets, all are running from 2950 to 3000 fps. I shoot 160's in my 7mag so I've got the heavies covered there, 120's in the 7-08. I tried a few diffrent powders but I got the best speed and accuracey with RL-15
