First of March and I start getting like a kid at Christmas waiting for the postman to deliver that letter with the entry form for the POTHOLES OPEN. Got it at 4 and was at the post office by 5pm signed and paid up. Who else fishes the PH Open? I fish with a guy that lives up on the hill above the Golf Course. Let me know when you're going to go pre fishing and come by for a beer and lie about big fish everyone caught. The mud boat flotilla should be geared up and hitting it hard way back in the trees. I've found a few beaver channels that are just deep enough to slide the mud boat through back by the ORV trails.

I think you guys are on the water the week before the walleye tournament. See you guys when I'm pre-fishing. You go after the smallies, or the large mouth? Could be tough for the largemouth this year. I'm thinking a late spawn this year unless things change in a big way.

If we can find 50+ degree water near spawning flats we'll target green fish. If its windy and cold we'll find a spot out of the wind and slow our roll and maybe tease some into biting.

Check your PMs
