Have a 2001 24v. What fuel filter should I run? I hear a lot about the Baldwin, will it constrict fuel to my vp44?

Not all filters are equal. Baldwin is a 5 micron and may filter too much for the vp44 I've heard but I don't know.

I use wix as well, and run additives every time I fuel up. I have had no fuel system issues in mine.

You should be fine running the Baldwin. Also saves your injectors with the better filter since it filters down to 5 micron. I switched to a duel fuel filter system that filters down to 2 microns to help prolong my injector life. I should mention my Cummins is a 2007 5.9.

Micron rating is kid of misleading. You can have a 2 micron wide 100 miron long piece of debree go through a 5 micron filter. There are new tests out for filtration and Wix is tops from what I've seen. But either Baldwin or Wix will do the job well.

I to run a 2 system in line fuel filters (wix). Use additive in winter. Diesel kleen. Never a issue after I added the 2nd fuel filter system.

I use WIX as well. I've also used CAT filters, but I don't recall which one I used.
I eliminated the stock filter and run a 2 filter system I built myself, also a water separator.
I run a half quart of 2 stroke oil in every tank as well.

I also run a dual filter system. Most diesel fuel is pretty dirty and filters are cheap maintance for those expensive high pressure common rail systems.
If your not getting good flow you need to change your filter more often, additionally how often do you guys bleed off the water in the fuel filter/water separator? The water does more damage than nearly anything else. I try and do mine at least once a month when I'm not driving much but as often as weekly when I'm putting down miles.
For the old mechanical 5.9 I don't filtering is quite as important to be diligent about. Is it important? Yes but nearly as important for the 03 and later common rail systems. I know people who have run straight filtered motor oil in the summer time in the old mechanical 5.9.

I would also add that I keep 1-2 main filters in my truck. I track my milage fairly close and when it starts to slide I just change them out. The 2 micron filters are HUGE in comparison to the small factory 5 micron ones. I normally use the Napa 3528 or the Wixom equivalent. Those filters are much less common for a parts store to have in Stock than the factory one.
I think it's more important to change them regularly than to worry about what brand is best.

What's wrong with NAPA gold fuel filters?
With a vp44 I'm pretty sure I'd have a dual filter setup and electric lift pump (FASS or equiv) with a low pressure alarm and gauge setup.

NAPA Gold is Wix.

The 03 dodges came with an outside the tank lifter pump. Main failed and fortunately I caught it before it wiped out the HP injector pump. I replaced it with the stock in tank system. The complaint I have with the outside tank pumps is that they can and will wear out quicker because they are not submerged in the fuel. Yes they put out more PSI but I think for longevity the in tank ones are better. An alarm may mitigate that issue but I'll stick with in tank pumps.
