Hello, all just curious how many of you get in the backcountry with a muzzleloader? What is your setup? Thanks Jason

I have been for elk the last few years. What do you want to know? Muzzy setup? I shoot a Knight Wolverine, .50 cal. 100 grains of Pyrodex (2x 50gr. Pellets), and a 405gr. hollow point lead Powerbelt. I also upgraded to a musket cap ignition.

I'm hunting archery for elk this year.

I do some years.  I use a Vortek NW explorer model 50 cal.  It is a pretty decent gun

The multi-season tags make it a nice option.  I only hunt wilderness areas, whether by archery, muzzleloader, or rifle.  My muzzleloader setup is a CVA Optima with 250 grain Barnes T-EZ for deer and 290 grain T-EZ for elk.  Nice rifle, and easy to carry.  Last year the deer and elk was the same season, so I hunted muzzleloader for both.  This year they're different so depends on the draws.....
