For sheer numbers, night.  For more enjoyment, day.

If you have the time, I would start about an hour before sunset and call throughout the night.  You will target their bedding areas early on when they are starting to get up and move, feeding areas through the night, and there is no "magic hour" in my experience and from listening to those who have night hunted hundreds and hundreds of nights.  Then the first couple of hours of daylight are always productive as well.

Best time for hunting?
For me it has to do with what the weather is like each day.
It also depends how cold it is.

If a calm night - then 11:00pm until 9:00am is pretty good.
But I mostly now just hunt daylight to about 9:30am, but in your area this may not be the case.

You'll just have try all different times and see when they are moving the most.
